Scholarship Fund

On 9/19/2002, we lost two members of our Marian family: Danielle and Kevin Trueblood. While they were only with us for a short time, their memories live on through the Trueblood Scholarship. A few years ago, we were fortunate to bring our scholarship recipients together and create a video that shared the impact this award has had on each of their lives. A special thank you to all those who have made this such a remarkable program and who have continued to carry out the values and passions that Danielle and Kevin had. Danielle and Kevin made the most of their time with us.  Their commitment to spending time with family and friends was a very important part of their lives.  If you were a friend of either of them, it was a lifetime commitment of loyalty and friendship.

​

 Aside from their affection for each other, they were individuals, as well.  Danielle loved to shop, read, watch movies and just hang out with her friends.  She loved her job at the pool and working with children.  For that reason, she aspired to be an elementary school teacher.

Kevin’s first love has always been basketball, particularly Iowa Hawkeye basketball.  He loved bowling with his friends, golf and his job as a caddy at the country club.  You could also find Kevin playing with his numerous video games or playing ball with the neighborhood boys.

 We were blessed with them for such a short time, but they left us with a lifetime of memories. It is this memory of our children that we would like to live on through this scholarship fund.   Beginning in 2004, three scholarships will be offered; one to a St. Margaret Mary graduating 8th grader and the second to a graduating 8th grader from one of the other Elementary Schools in McHenry County that are Marian bound with the third awarded to a graduating Marian student that is college bound.
